Oculoplastic Surgery
Oculoplastic surgery includes many types of surgical procedures that affect the eye socket, eyelids and tear ducts, as well as the face. Often, oculoplastic procedures also involve reconstruction of the eye lids and its associated structures. This may include procedures as varied as the repair of orbital (eye socket) fractures, the removal of tear duct obstructions, the repair of droopy eyelids, the repair of nerve and/or muscle damage and the removal of tumors in and around the eyes. Likewise, such procedures may reduce or eliminate some instances of double vision or help improve eyesight for those experiencing decreased vision.
